Nasser Hussain on Team India: Former England captain Nasser Hussain feels that the Indian team lacks a seam bowler who can also bat on the team’s overseas tours. Hussain said that such a player can be like Ben Stokes or Cameron Green, who can be important in winning the team on foreign tours. Hussain said that India missed Rishabh Pant a lot and hoped that the wicket-keeper batsman would make a comeback soon as he is missing a lot at the moment.

Hussain said in the ICC (International Cricket Council) review on Wednesday, ‘They (India) are excellent on their ground and the balance of their team on their ground is very good.’ He said, ‘At the moment an Indian cricketer who is a cricketer like Ben Stokes, a cricketer like Cameron Green, a cricketer like Mitchell Marsh, he can bat at number six or seven abroad, taking wickets for you. A batsman who can bowl 10 or 15 overs with ‘seam and swing’, not a bowler who can only bat a little but a batsman who can give you 10 overs of seam bowling. With this, this combination will make India invincible abroad.
This will give India a big advantage in all three formats of the game.
The former cricketer also said that players like skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and young Shubman Gill make India a strong unit at home, but overseas a seam bowling all-rounder like Hardik Pandya is a must in Tests. Ever since Pandya made his comeback from a back injury, he has shown little interest in playing the longer format. Hussain also feels that if fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah makes a strong comeback after being fully fit, it will give India a huge advantage in all three formats of the game.
