India Meteorological Department issued forecast, ‘Loo’ alert till April 15 in Odisha

In the plains of West Bengal, some areas of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Bihar, ‘Loo’ conditions may prevail for the next three to four days. A heat wave warning has been issued in Odisha till April 15. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) released this forecast on Thursday. Earlier, the Meteorological Department had predicted above normal maximum temperatures from April to June in most parts of the country except the northwest and peninsular region.

There is also a possibility of heat wave conditions for more days than normal in most parts of central, eastern and northwestern India during this period. At present, the maximum temperature in central and north peninsular India is staying between 40 to 42 degree Celsius. Explain that ‘Loo’ is announced when the maximum temperature exceeds 40 degrees.
