Jhansi Fort

Jhansi Fort is a fort built in the 17th century also known as Jhansi Fort, it was built by Raja Bir Singh Deo. Few years later, Raja Gangadhar Rao ruled the place and brought development to the locality. After his death, his wife Manikarnika Tambe, now known as Rani of Jhansi, fought valiantly against the East India Company in 1958. With her son tied to her back, Rani Lakshmi Bai fought the British and was later captured.

Chauri Chaura, Gorakhpur

In the year 1922, an Indian mob burnt 23 policemen inside a British government police post. This incident led to the intervention of Mahatma Gandhi, and he called off the Non-Cooperation Movement, for which he was arrested and sentenced to 6 years.
 

Chandrashekhar Azad Park, Allahabad

Chandrashekhar Azad fought with British soldiers in this park in 1931. It is a 133-acre park, where the freedom fighter died fighting for independence in 1931 at the age of 24. Chandrashekhar Azad shot himself during a gun battle at this place. He vowed that he would never be caught and would not like to be shot by British soldiers, so he shot himself at this place. This place is now known as Chandrashekhar Azad Park.
