Ruturaj Gaikwad hit 13 fours and 7 sixes in his 57-ball innings. On the other end, Tilak Verma supported him fully. Tilak also played an unbeaten inning of 31 runs. He hit four fours in 31 balls.
India would like to win this match and capture the series. India lost its first opener Yashasvi Jaiswal early. Jaiswal was out after scoring 6 runs. Ishan Kishan, who came after him, could not even open an account.
Suryakumar Yadav took charge of the team for some time and spent some time at the crease with Gaikwad. He played a captain’s inning of 39 runs in 29 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes. He increased the pace of runs which continued till the end.
Now Australia will have to win this match by scoring 223 runs in 20 overs to remain in this series. In bowling, Kane Richardson, Behrendorff and Aaron Hordley took one wicket each for Australia. Maxwell, who came to bowl the last over, got crushed.
