In Simdega, beneficiaries have to go five kilometers away to collect ration.

Simdega: To get ration from Meromdega of the block, the beneficiaries have to go to Pandaripani, about five kilometers away. Due to which the beneficiaries are facing a lot of problems. Beneficiaries from dozens of villages of Meromdega Panchayat of Thathaitangar block have had to go to Pandaripani to get ration for the last 18 months. Despite this, one has to stand in long queues at the ration shop. The beneficiaries have demanded the supply department to solve the problem. It was told that the PDS shop is allotted in the name of Rajendra Mehar, resident of Meromdega. But from April 2022, cardholders will have to collect ration from the shop of Pandaripani Santhara SHG Group. Due to which the beneficiaries go to Pandaripani to get ration using Meromdega finger. Sanmait Devi, resident of Meromdega colony, said that earlier ration was available in Meromdega only. But for the last one and a half years, one has to walk to Pandaripani to get ration. Due to which time is wasted throughout the day. Sukhmani Devi said that even ration is not available on time. One to two kilograms are cut into pieces.

To get ration one has to pay tempo fare also. Suleman Kullu, a resident of Bartoli, said that he has to travel a distance of five kilometers to get ration since last year. No one is going to pay attention to our problems. Elizabeth Billung said that the government talks about giving food grains to the poor in the villages itself. But today ration is not available in the village. Beneficiaries have to run around for ration for several days. Santhara SHG Group shopkeeper told that the grains are delivered to the PDS shop by the warehouse operator. One bag is said to contain 51 to 52 kilograms. But on weighing, only 45 kg to 47 kg of rice is available in one bag. Due to which some people are given one to two kilograms less rice.
