In Patna last year (2023), from January to December, 3 lakh 58 thousand 238 vehicles broke traffic rules. A fine of Rs 45 crore 65 lakh 38 thousand 300 was imposed on the owners of these vehicles. Last year, the traffic police caught an average of 981 vehicles violating traffic rules every day and a fine of Rs 12 lakh 50 thousand 789 was imposed on them. Maximum 2 lakh 59 thousand 949 bikers were caught for riding without helmet. A fine of Rs 25 crore 99 lakh 49 thousand was collected from him.

That is, every day 712 people riding bikes without helmets were fined Rs 7 lakh 12 thousand. At the same time, there were least number of people talking on mobile while driving. A fine of Rs 16 lakh 10 thousand was imposed against 322 such people in a year. Traffic SP Puran Jha said that fine has been imposed on all the vehicles breaking traffic rules through cameras and HHD machines.
