Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar has announced the dates of Lok Sabha elections 2024. In the press conference of the Election Commission held at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi, the Chief Election Commissioner has announced to conduct the Lok Sabha elections 2024 in 7 phases. This time also elections will be conducted in 4 phases in Jharkhand.

Voting was held in 4 phases in 2019 also

Voting took place in the last four phases of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Jharkhand. In Jharkhand, the first phase of voting was held on 29 April 2019, while the second phase of voting was held on 6 May, the third phase of voting was held on 12 May and the fourth and final phase of voting was held on 19 May 2019.

6 out of 14 Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand are reserved for SC-ST.

Let us tell you that there are total 14 Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand. Of these, 8 are general seats. 5 seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST), while one seat is reserved for Palamu Scheduled Caste (SC). Rajmahal and Singhbhum seats, two seats reserved for Scheduled Tribes, were won by the candidates of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Congress respectively in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. BJP candidates won all the remaining seats.

BJP got maximum 51.6 percent votes in 2019

55 parties had contested the Lok Sabha elections in Jharkhand. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) got the maximum 51.609 percent votes. Congress party got total 15.8298 percent votes. At the same time, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) had received a total of 11.661 percent votes.

AJSU got 4.39 percent votes and JVM Prajatantrik got 5 percent votes.

AJSU Party and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) got 4.3884 percent and 5.0824 percent votes respectively. Independent candidates had received 4.2054 percent votes, while 1.2819 percent voters of Jharkhand had pressed the None of the Above (NOTA) button.

Lok Sabha elections were conducted in 7 phases in the country.

Lok Sabha elections were held last time in seven phases. The first phase of voting took place on 11 April 2019. In this, voting took place on 91 Lok Sabha seats of 20 states/union territories. In the second phase on 18th April, 95 seats of 12 states, on 23rd April, 117 seats of 15 states, on 29th April, 71 seats of eight states, on 6th May, 50 Lok Sabha seats of seven states, on 12th May, 59 seats of seven states and Voting took place on 59 Lok Sabha seats in eight states on May 19. Elections were held on only one seat on August 5.

There were a total of 2,24,04,856 voters, out of which 1,49,66,781 had exercised their franchise. There were an average of 760 voters at a polling station. 229 candidates contested the Lok Sabha elections, out of which the deposits of 202 were forfeited.
