Barkatha (Hazaribagh), Reyaz Khan: In Barkatha police station area of Hazaribagh district, a young man sexually exploited a student of Kasturba Gandhi Residential School on the pretext of marriage. The young man is refusing to marry when she is pregnant. In this regard, the minor student has lodged a written complaint at Barkatta police station. Police have registered an FIR and are conducting raids to arrest the accused. The victim told that she came in contact with Rupesh Ram through Facebook and a love affair was going on. During this time, he sexually exploited her on the pretext of marriage. Due to this she became pregnant. Now he is refusing to marry.
Love happened on Facebook, refused to marry if pregnant
In the application, the 17-year-old student has written that she is a class 9 student of Kasturba Vidyalaya, Barkatha, Adwar. Through Facebook, she was having an affair with Rupesh Ram (father Mahendra Ram), resident of village Telodih Barhi, for about one and a half years. Four months ago, on 19-12-2023, Rupesh Ram took her from school to Barhi on the pretext of marriage and sexually assaulted her. During these four months he kept having physical relations with her. The student told that she is currently four months pregnant. When Rupesh Ram was informed about this, he refused to marry her. Gave complete information about the incident to the family members. On the application of the victim, an FIR has been registered in Barkatha police station under case number 56/24.
What does the warden say?
In this regard, the warden of Kasturba Vidyalaya, Simple Kumari, said that she was not in the school on the day of the incident. The student had told another teacher that a girl in the school was her sister and had gone with her. Any girl studying in school is allowed to go only with a family member (ID card). ID cards of all the girl students have not been made. This leads to arguments with parents every day.

What does the police station in charge say?
In this regard, police station in-charge Rajesh Kumar Bhokta said that a case has been registered. The statement of the victim student has been recorded in the court under section 164. Action is being taken to arrest the named accused.
