IMD Heavy Rain Alert: Rain expected for three days in these districts of Jharkhand including Ranchi, Meteorological Department alerted

Jharkhand Weather:In the last 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall occurred at some places in the state. While heavy rains were also recorded at some places. Monsoon activity remained weak in the state. Maximum rainfall was recorded at Bolba (Simdega) at 89.4 mm. The highest temperature was recorded at 37.0 degree Celsius in Godda and the lowest minimum temperature was recorded at 23.6 degree Celsius in Chaibasa. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of rain in many districts of the state even today. Heavy rains are also expected in some districts for three days.

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there will be light to moderate rain with thunder at many places in the state today. Whereas, the southern parts of the state (East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Simdega and Seraikela Kharsawan) may receive heavy rain at isolated places. On August 17 and 18, there will be light to moderate rain with thunder at almost all places in the state. On August 19, there will be light to moderate rain with thunder at many places in the state. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder at some places in the state on August 20. At the same time, on August 21 and 22, there will be light to moderate rain with thunder at many places. Apart from this, an alert of heavy rain has been issued in some districts of the state till August 18. During this, there is a possibility of thunder with thunder. Yellow alert has been issued in these districts regarding this.

  • Heavy rain very likely at isolated places over southern parts of the state (East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Simdega and Seraikela Kharsawan) on 16th August

  • On August 17, there is a possibility of heavy rain at some places in the western, southern and adjacent central parts of the state i.e. Garhwa, Palamu, Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla, Ranchi, Khunti, Simdega, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela Kharsawan districts.

  • On August 18, there is a possibility of heavy rain at some places in the south-west parts of the state (Gumla, Khunti, Simdega and West Singhbhum).

  • There is also a possibility of thunder and lightning at some places till August 16-18.

  • The sky will remain cloudy in Ranchi till August 20. During this, there may be light to moderate rain at some places. There may also be heavy rains at some places.

Yellow alert till 18 August

In view of the possibility of thunder and lightning, the Meteorological Department has warned the people by issuing a yellow alert till August 18. The department has appealed to the people to take shelter in a safe place during this season. To avoid rain even by mistake, do not stay under trees and stay away from electric poles. The department has also made a special appeal to the farmers not to go to the fields until the weather becomes normal.

What is the status of monsoon now?

At present, the monsoon trough at mean sea level is running up to the foothills of the Himalayas. 38 percent less rain in Jharkhand

Whereas, the normal rainfall record at this time is 668.9 mm. Chatra district has received the least rainfall among 24 districts of Jharkhand. There is still 60 percent less rainfall here. Whereas, maximum rainfall was received in Sahibganj, where it received 4 mm more rain than normal. After Sahibganj, Simdega has also received good rains. However, that too is less than normal. Simdega has received 10 percent less rainfall than normal. However, since the monsoon has been active for the last few days, the rain deficit has reduced a bit. Till a week ago, the state had received only about half of the normal rainfall. Now the percentage of rain deficiency has come down to 38. It is expected that due to the active monsoon in Jharkhand, the rain deficit will almost completely go away.
