National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the registration process for PhD Entrance Test 2023. Through this test, admission will be given in PhD programs of about 100 subjects in Delhi University (DU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU). If you have obtained post graduate or equivalent degree and are planning to do PhD from any central university, you can apply for appearing in this entrance test by 8 September.

Some of the common subjects in which NTA will take entrance for Ph.D are Education, Buddhist Studies, African Studies, Korean Studies, European Studies, Human Rights, Japanese Studies, Inner Asia Studies, Law, Library and Information Science , Mass Communication and Journalism/ Media Studies, National Security Studies, Chinese Studies, Physical Education and Sports Science, Social, Women Studies etc. Art and Culture subjects include Cinema Studies, Hindustani Music, Fine Arts, History of Art, Theater and Performance Studies, Visual Studies, Public Health, Energy Studies, among many others.
Under Commerce / Finance subjects, one can do PhD in Commerce / Management / Financial Studies, Economics / Regional Development Economics / Business Economics, Economics Studies and Planning. There are many other subjects in Humanities including Anthropology, Philosophy, Social Work, Sociology, Social Systems, History/ Historical Studies/ Political Science/ Political Studies/ Public Administration.
In language subjects, PhD can be done in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Hindi, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Linguistics, Modern Indian Language and Literary Studies, Persian, Punjabi, Russian, Sanskrit, Hindi translation, Urdu, Portuguese Are. Such is the pattern of entrance
It will be a computer based test. There will be two sections in this test of three hours. Research methodology in section-1 and subject related questions in section-2 will be asked. Each paper will have 100 multiple choice questions in English only except language. All questions are compulsory. For every correct answer 4 marks will be given and for wrong answer 1 mark will be deducted. The subject wise syllabus of the test is available in the Information Bulletin.
