Lok Sabha election 2024: Jamshedpur, Sanjeev Bhardwaj – 41 days after the announcement of Lok Sabha elections, JMM on Thursday declared Baharagora MLA Sameer Mohanty as the authorized candidate of Indi Alliance by giving party ticket to Baharagora MLA from Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat. While talking to BollywoodWallah, Baharagora MLA Sameer Mahanti said that he had never imagined even in his dreams that the party would make him a candidate for the Lok Sabha elections. He did not even have the courage to ask for a Lok Sabha ticket from the party. Here, in response to a question, Sameer Mohanty said that he has learned a lot of politics from Vidyutvaran Mahato. Election is a battlefield. They will fight with full force.
Started political journey from JMM
Sameer Mohanty won the 2019 assembly elections from Baharagora assembly by defeating BJP candidate (then JMM MLA) Kunal Shadangi by 60565 votes. Sameer Mohanty received his primary school education from his native village Bend in Chakulia. He did his matriculation from Manohar Lal Government High School and later graduation in commerce from Ghatshila College. Sameer Mohanty started his political journey from JMM. As the president of Chakulia block of JMM, Sameer Mohanty’s image was created as an agitating leader. They carried out many agitations and had many clashes with government office officials. After this, he joined AJSU party in 2005 under the leadership of AJSU supremo Sudesh Mahato. When he became disillusioned with AJSU, he contested elections from Baharagora in 2014 on JVM ticket. After the defeat in the elections, he joined BJP. After 14 years, Sameer Mohanty again returned to JMM and got the assembly ticket and won.
Wasn’t sure of getting a ticket
After getting the ticket for Lok Sabha elections 2024, Baharagora MLA Sameer Mohanty, while talking to BollywoodWallah, said that he had never imagined even in his dreams that the party would make him a candidate for the Upper House of Delhi. Being the son of a poor family, he did not even have the courage to ask for a Lok Sabha ticket. In this work, he got immense support from party supremo Shibu Soren and former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, due to which he got this ticket.
Learned politics from Vidyutvaran Mahato
In response to a question, Sameer Mohanty said that he has learned a lot of politics from Vidyutvaran Mahato. Even in Mahabharata, Dronacharya had taught Arjun the art of warfare, but when both of them came face to face in the war, everyone saw the fate. Elections are a battlefield, they will fight with full force. The decorum will be fully maintained from their side.
Vidyut also started his journey to Delhi from Baharagora.
Vidyutvaran Mahato, two-time BJP MP from Jamshedpur and candidate in the third election, had also contested the 2014 Lok Sabha elections as the MLA of Baharagora. Vidyutvaran Mahato became MLA from Baharagora in 2014 on JMM ticket. After 10 years, JMM has again made the contest interesting by giving a ticket to its MLA Sameer Mohanty from Baharagora to travel to Delhi.
