Hyundai has increased the price of Exeter SUV, know how much it will cost to buy it.

New Delhi : Hyundai Motor has announced to increase the price of Exeter SUV with immediate effect. This is the first price increase for Hyundai’s smallest SUV in India since the launch of the Exeter just two months ago. The price increase in Exeter is applicable on four of the six variants on offer. In the latest increase, the price of Hyundai Exeter has increased by Rs 16,000. The Exeter SUV was launched in July this year at a starting price of Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom). In the small SUV segment, it competes with Tata Punch and Citroen C3.

Prices of which variants increased by how much?

The prices of Hyundai Xeter have been revised for variants like EX(O), S, SX and SX(O). The price of these variants has been increased by approximately Rs 5,000 to Rs 16,000. The lowest increase of Rs 5,000 has been applied on the top-end SX(O) Connect dual-tone variant of the Exeter with automatic gearbox. At the same time, the highest increase of Rs 16,000 has been made on the SX(O) Connect dual-tone variant with manual transmission. There has been a similar increase of Rs 10,400 in other variants. As per the new price list, the price of the top-spec Hyundai Xeter SUV variant has now been increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 10.10 lakh (ex-showroom). There has been no change in the price of entry-level EX and SX(O) Connect variants. The price of CNG variants of the SUV has also not been increased.

Nine color options in Hyundai Exeter

Hyundai Xeter SUV is available in nine exterior color options as well as several dual-tone options. Being a Hyundai model, the Exeter SUV is equipped with many modern features, which include sunroof, dashcam, digital driver display, 8-inch main infotainment screen.

Engine and Mileage in Hyundai Exeter

The Hyundai Xcent E20 is available with a fuel-cooled 1.2-litre Kappa petrol engine, mated to a five-speed manual transmission unit as well as an AMT gearbox. There is also an option to choose company-fitted CNG variant. The engine generates power of 81.86 bhp and peak torque of 113.8 Nm in both manual and AMT models. Power output in CNG version is 68 bhp and torque is 95.2 Nm. The claimed mileage in the petrol-only Exeter is 19.4 (with manual) and 19.2 kmpl (with AMT) while the CNG mileage of the Exeter is 27.1 kmpl.

Look and Design

Talking about the look and design of Hyundai Xeter, Hyundai Xeter comes with H-shaped LED treatment for DRL and tail lamp. The car also gets flared wheel arches, 15-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, front and rear faux skid plates, roof rails and thick body cladding all around.

The Hyundai Xcent comes with an all-black cabin, a digital instrument cluster, semi-leatherette seat upholstery, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, voice-activated commands in multiple languages, and OTA updates. The SUV also gets wireless charging, factory-fitted dashcam and keyless entry. Safety features include ESC, hill assist control, ABS with EBD, 6 airbags, seatbelt reminder for all seats, ISOFIX and rear parking sensors and camera.

Power

Powering the Hyundai Exeter is a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine which generates 83 bhp and 114 Nm when running on petrol. With CNG, power reduces to 69 bhp and 95.2 Nm. The petrol version of the SUV comes with the option of 5-speed manual gearbox or AMT, while the CNG variant gets a manual transmission as standard. The AMT version also comes with paddle shifters.

Features of Exeter

Hyundai Xeter has been introduced in 6 monotone and 3 dual tone color options. This entry level SUV is equipped with spacious interior, advanced technology as well as segment first 8 inch infotainment system, ambient sound of nature, 6 airbags, 3 point seat belt, seat belt reminder, electric sunroof with voice command as well as dual camera. There are many special features including dashcam. Hyundai Exeter’s 1.2 liter 4 cylinder Kappa petrol engine, which comes with manual and smart auto transmission options, is capable of giving a mileage of up to 19.4 kmpl. Whereas, the mileage of 1.2 liter 4 cylinder bi-fuel Kappa petrol CNG variant is up to 27.1 km/kg. The ground clearance of Exeter is 180 mm and the boot space is 319 litres.

Hyundai Xeter will be offered with CNG as well as petrol powertrains. The engine on duty is a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated unit. It produces maximum power of 81.86 bhp and peak torque of 113.8 Nm. When running on CNG, these figures reduce to 68 bhp and 95.2 Nm. Maximum power comes at 6,000 rpm, while peak torque output comes at 4,000 rpm.

The petrol variant gets a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT while the CNG variant gets only a 5-speed manual gearbox. The gearbox is smooth and slots with a positive feel. The AMT gearbox is also very easy to shift gears and the head-nod is also very less. At the same time, the engine is also quite refined.

Security Features

The biggest discussion about Hyundai Exeter is its security features. As standard, the Exeter comes with six airbags, an anti-lock braking system with electronic brake distribution, parking sensors, central locking, seat belt reminder, high-speed alert and an emergency stop signal. Higher variants also get electronic stability control, rear parking camera, vehicle stability management and hill start assist.
