Hazaribagh: About 100 years old banyan tree fell on the road near Imambara on Lohsingh-Shivpuri road. The tree fell at around 10.30 pm on 19 November. Due to this, electricity supply to more than ten thousand consumers of the city was disrupted. There was no electricity in Lohsinghna, Shivpuri New Area. 10 electric poles fell due to falling trees. Due to this, the entire Shivpuri, Lohsinghana and a large part of New Area was plunged into darkness.
Local people said that at around 10.30 pm, people from nearby houses came out due to the sound of trees falling. Due to falling of trees, many main roads of the city including Shivpuri locality have been closed. The people of Shivpuri are facing problems in commuting. The residents of the locality have informed the electricity department about this. Assistant Engineer Raghavendra Pratap Singh said that electricity in this area will be restored soon.
