Data Security and Privacy in Medical Sector: Amidst the progress in adoption of digital technology in India, data security and privacy are some of the areas of concern that need to be addressed for better integration of technology in healthcare. Experts in the public health sector said this on the occasion of the third IHW Digital Health Summit and Awards.
The two-day summit, organized by think tank Integrated Health and Wellness (IHW) Council last week, brought together key stakeholders for meaningful dialogue on the transformation of the digital health ecosystem.
Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale, who attended the event, said that initiatives like Digital Health Awards inspire everyone to prioritize their health and build the health of families and communities.
During the program, digital health, Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and use of technologies like AI and drones in the health sector were discussed. Underlining the role of strategic collaboration in ensuring universal health coverage in the country, Dr Urvashi Prasad, Director (Office of the Vice Chairman), NITI Aayog, said, India has made considerable progress in digital health. We need to ensure data security and privacy while moving towards accessible and affordable health care through technology.
