Chhath festival was celebrated with full enthusiasm in Bandgaon and Karaikela of West Singhbhum. This great festival of faith which lasted for 4 days came to an end with the offering of Arghya to the rising sun on Monday morning. Chhath fasting people and their families had started gathering at the ghat since early morning.

The singing of Chhath Maiya on the ghats was making the atmosphere devotional. After the puja, chants of Chhathi Maiya started resonating. During this period, there were strict security arrangements also. Looking at the redness of Arun Dev, women prayed for happiness and prosperity. During this time, the male members of the family also cooperated well in offering Arghya to the Chhathvartis.

At the same time, a large number of other women from the surrounding areas had also come to witness Chhath. After offering Ardha to the Sun God, Prasad was distributed among the devotees. Let us tell you that on the third day of this four-day festival, i.e. from Sunday afternoon, a crowd of women fasting at Chhath Ghats had started gathering.

All the women had reached the ghats with musical instruments. After standing in water for some time, the women offered Arghya to the setting sun at the auspicious time. A large number of women reached the banks of the river and pond. There was so much crowd at Chhath Ghats that it became difficult to walk.
