Home Minister Amit Shah said, Biparjoy killed 234 cattle in Gujarat, 47 people injured

Ahmedabad : Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Saturday that 234 cattle were killed and 47 people were injured due to cyclonic storm Biparjoy, which entered Gujarat at a speed of about 140 km per km. However, there is no news of any death due to this cyclonic storm. He also said that power supply will be started in the areas of Gujarat which have been damaged by this cyclonic storm by June 20. He said that our priority is to restore electricity, water supply and send people living in shelter homes to their homes.

Amit Shah did an aerial survey of Kutch

Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah conducted an aerial survey of areas affected by cyclone ‘Biparjoy’ in Kutch district of Gujarat on Saturday. He met the injured people at a hospital in Mandvi town and also interacted with farmers and NDRF and BSF personnel. He reached Kutch district headquarters Bhuj in a helicopter and conducted an aerial survey of Jakhau, where the powerful cyclone wreaked havoc on Thursday night. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was also with him.

Talked to the injured in Mandvi’s hospital

According to media reports, Home Minister Amit Shah reached Mandvi sub-district hospital and met injured people and pregnant women brought from coastal villages. He visited a field near Mandvi and interacted with the farmers to assess the damage caused to the crops. He met National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, who were involved in relief and rescue operations, at the Mandvi airport.

Discussion on cyclone situation

The Union Home Minister went back to Bhuj and discussed the situation after the cyclone. Electricity was cut off in many towns and hundreds of villages due to the uprooting of electric poles due to the strong winds during the cyclone. The government said in a release that 1,09,000 people were shifted from coastal areas to temporary shelters, including 10,918 children, 5,070 senior citizens and 1,152 pregnant women.
