Home Minister Amit Shah on Odisha tour: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch a national highway project in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. He will also attend meetings on Left Wing Extremism and Disaster Management at the State Secretariat. Please tell that Shah reached Bhubaneswar on Friday night. He was received at the airport by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Odisha unit president Manmohan Samal and Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, among other leaders.

According to officials, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is also likely to attend the meetings on Left Wing Extremism and disaster management at the state secretariat. However, no official confirmation has been made regarding the meeting between Shah and Patnaik.

The Home Minister’s visit to Odisha assumes significance as it comes after the state’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) announced support to the Delhi Ordinance Bill and opposition to the no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi government. Shah will visit the BJP office in Bhubaneswar on Saturday afternoon and hold a meeting with party officials. Shah’s visit to Odisha scheduled for June 17 was canceled in view of Biparjoy cyclone in Gujarat.
