On Wednesday, drivers demonstrated fiercely in various cities of the state including Gaya, Siwan, Sheikhpura and parked their vehicles on the roads at many places. Due to the demonstration of drivers, there was jam at many places. Due to this, traffic came to a complete standstill for hours. Due to this people had to face a lot of problems.

The drivers protesting against the hit and run law said that how will the poor people earning Rs 7,000 per month pay the fine of Rs 7 lakh and how will they serve the sentence of 10 years. What will happen to our family and children? The demand of the drivers was that the government should immediately abolish this black law, otherwise such road jams will always happen.

As soon as the information was received, Mahadeva OP Police Station Head along with the armed forces reached the spot and tried to clear the jam by convincing the drivers. Till late evening there was a long queue of vehicles on the National Highway. On the other hand, due to the strike of ambulance drivers, patients and their relatives had to face a lot of problems. Many such family members were seen running here and there for an ambulance in Badharia Road.

Due to this, people had to remain stuck in traffic jams for hours. Here too, when the police force arrived at 10.30 in the day, the road jam was removed and vehicular movement could be started.

During this period, due to traffic jam at many places, even after leaving one place and reaching another place, one had to get stuck in the traffic jam. The protesting drivers blocked the road by lighting fire on the Dobhi-Chatra main road in Bahera OP area of ​​Gaya district. During this period, the movement of vehicles came to a standstill for about two hours. There were queues of vehicles on both sides of the road. On receiving information about the jam, Bahera OP President Pawan Kumar reached the jam spot with his team. The road jam was removed with strictness. Only after exercising strictness, the drivers removed the road jam. Traffic was restored only after the road jam was removed. People also faced a lot of trouble due to road blockage.

What is hit and run law?

There is a provision in the new law of hit and run that drivers who cause a serious road accident by negligent driving and run away without informing the police or any administration official, will be punished with imprisonment of up to 10 years or a fine of Rs seven lakh. There may be a fine. However, this law has not been implemented at present. Drivers are protesting in view of fears of its implementation.
