Himachal Pradesh: The Supreme Court has not given relief to the six rebel MLAs of Himachal Pradesh. Has refused to stay the decision of the Assembly Speaker disqualifying the MLAs. The Supreme Court has sought response from the office of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker on the petition of six rebel Congress MLAs against their disqualification. According to the order issued by the court, all six MLAs have been refused permission to vote or participate in the proceedings of the House. Meanwhile, the next hearing of the case has been scheduled for May 6. Be aware that both the parties will have to file counter affidavits within four weeks. The six rebel Congress MLAs whose eligibility was canceled include Sudhir Sharma, Rajendra Rana, Indradutt Lakhanpal, Ravi Thakur, Devendra Bhutto and Chaitanya Sharma.

Himachal Pradesh: Membership canceled for violating whip

Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania had canceled his membership for violating the whip. It may be noted that these MLAs were not present in the House after the whip was issued in Himachal. After which the Assembly Speaker took action and canceled his membership. These rebels, who cross-voted in favor of BJP in the Rajya Sabha elections, had challenged the decision of the Speaker in the Supreme Court.

Rebel MLAs will have to file their reply

At the same time, the Supreme Court has fixed the date of May 6 for the next hearing on this matter. Along with this, the court has given one week’s time to the rebel MLAs to file their reply. It is noteworthy that the process of filing nominations for the six vacant seats of the Assembly will start on May 7. Six dissident MLAs – Sudhir Sharma, Ravi Thakur, Rajendra Rana, Inder Dutt Lakhanpal, Chaitanya Sharma and Devendra Kumar Bhutto – disobeyed the Congress whip by being present in the House and voting in favor of the Himachal Pradesh government during the cut motion and budget.
