High Court gave these instructions to the government in the case of rape of a foreign woman in Dumka

Ranchi: Jharkhand High Court heard the PIL filed suo motu in the gang rape case of a Spanish speaking woman (Brazilian citizen) in Hansdiha, Dumka. During the hearing, the division bench of Acting Chief Justice S Chandrashekhar and Justice Navneet Kumar directed the state government to stop crimes against women.

At the same time, asked to submit action taken report against those who forcibly encroach on people’s land. The division bench also directed the state government to file an affidavit regarding the crimes committed in all the districts and the action taken against them. The division bench verbally made strong remarks on the drug trade going on in the state. Said that the trade of brown sugar, opium and drugs is going on indiscriminately in the state. The youth are falling prey to it. Its sale should be strictly banned and immediately banned.

The court said that the police destroys opium cultivation in the state from time to time. Despite this, opium cultivation is going on. There is a need to run an intensive campaign against it, so that the drug trade can be rooted out. The division bench had also commented during the hearing of the case last day that it appears that Jharkhand has become like a haven for the drug trade. How is illegal business happening despite the presence of police and administration? This should be strictly banned. The division bench fixed April 9 for the next hearing of the case. Earlier, the division bench was told by the state government that a case has been registered against more than 200 people in the case related to forcible occupation of land in the state. Action is being taken against land mafia. The police remains ready to stop crime against women. The helpline number is also operational.
