Based on the report of the then Commissioner of South Chhotanagpur Nitin Madan Kulkarni, ED had started investigation into the land scam. The matter is related to the purchase and sale of land occupied by the army. It was said in the report that army land was bought and sold in Jharkhand on the basis of fake name and address. Ranchi Municipal Corporation had lodged an FIR in this regard. ED had started investigation by registering ECIR on the basis of the same FIR. ED is repeatedly sending summons to interrogate the Chief Minister in connection with buying and selling of land by forging documents and illegal occupation of tribal land.

A team of Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials will reach the Chief Minister’s residence after 12:00 noon on Saturday to interrogate CM Hemant Soren. Probably some officers from Delhi will also be included in this team. The team of officials can ask Chief Minister Hemant Soren questions related to the financial sources of the property acquired by him and his family members. Besides, the Chief Minister’s statement on related points will also be recorded. During this period, complete preparations have been made for law and order along with security of the ED office and officers. A total of 900 police officers and soldiers have been deployed for security from the ED office to the Chief Minister’s residence. Barricading has been done outside the ED office and the Chief Minister’s residence.
