Expressway New Proposal: The Central Government is seriously considering developing facilities for the landing of helicopters and drones on national highways across the country. Giving information in this regard, Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the government plans to make helipads at 600 places on various national highways. Which can be used at the time of medical emergency.

Road infrastructure in India will be like America by 2024

According to a Moneycontrol report, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said in a program of the Indian Merchants Chamber that the government aims to bring the country’s infrastructure at par with America by the next year i.e. 2024. Nitin Gadkari said that facilities like helipad will help in dealing with situations of medical emergency like road accidents and organ transplant. He said that the government is making world-class way-side facilities at more than 600 places on national highways.

These facilities will be available on the highway

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that along with the highway, the government is trying to provide all facilities for the drivers. Way-side facilities will have basic facilities like good toilets, parking and restaurants. Along with this, work is going on to provide facilities like dormitories for truck drivers on the roadside, charging facilities for electric vehicles and trauma centers. Nitin Gadkari said that retail outlets will also be opened to promote handicrafts and locally made products.

Target to become a $5 trillion economy by 2025

Nitin Gadkari said that the transportation cost in India is higher at 13-14 per cent of GDP as compared to 8 to 9 per cent in other developed economies like America. He said that PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan is a very big initiative. This will help in reducing the shipping cost. Nitin Gadkari said that high logistics cost reduces the competitiveness of Made in India products in global markets. Reducing transportation cost to 9 per cent of GDP is at the top of the government’s agenda. Nitin Gadkari said that a strong-stable-decisive and transparent government is moving towards the goal of making the country a $5 trillion economy by 2025.
