Heavy rains may cause water logging in this area of Patna, incomplete construction of Mandiri drain becomes a hindrance

[ad_1]

Patna. The incomplete construction of Mandiri drain has become a hindrance in its cleaning and cleaning. In the 1.24 km long drain, only 70 meters long concrete drain has been left incomplete. This is only seven percent of the construction work of the entire project. But due to being situated in the initial part of the drain, due to this, neither the drain has been blown properly, nor the water will flow smoothly from it. Water flows through this drain in most of the areas of Ward 24, 25 and 26, including about a dozen localities including Mandiri, Kidwaipuri, Srikrishnanagar, Adalatganj, Chinakothi and Lodipur. Due to obstruction in the flow of Mandiri Nala, after heavy monsoon rains, there will be problem in draining the water of these localities and this whole area may get waterlogged, which will affect the population of about 50,000.

One foot thick layer of mud seen

The team of BollywoodWallah, which went to investigate the drain, found a layer of mud about one feet thick in the about 70 meter long drain-like structure of concrete under construction. A Municipal Corporation official told that before the blasting, this under-construction drain was completely filled with silt, after cleaning it is visible in its present condition. Since the flow of water is less, the layer of sludge is settling down.

Fear of falling into the mud drain of the shore

There is a large area of Mandiri drain where the side wall has collapsed. Due to this, the soil on the bank is on the verge of collapse and when the water pressure comes, it can collapse and fall into the drain. In such a situation, the flow of the drain will be affected.

10 to 12 meter wide road to be built over the drain

A 10 to 12 meter wide road has to be built over the Mandiri drain by spending Rs 90 crore. Tender for this was held in February. It has not been opened even after almost a month after the end of the tender period in March. After its opening and allotting, it will take one year to complete the construction here. Thus, even if it is opened soon, its construction is not likely to be completed before June next year. Till then the problem of drainage from the drain will remain due to incomplete structure.
