Heat Stroke in UP: Heat wave continues, health department team reaches the house of the dead in Ballia, 178 new patients admitted

Heat Stroke in UP: Before the arrival of monsoon in UP, the outbreak of scorching heat is proving fatal for the people. People’s difficulties have increased due to undeclared power cuts in all the districts of the state including Lucknow. Even in urban areas, there is movement of electricity during the day as well as at night.

Meanwhile, before the arrival of monsoon in Purvanchal, people may have to face the scorching heat. At the same time, after more than 150 deaths due to heat in Ballia and Deoria, the health department is on alert mode, investigation has been started in the matter. However, the series of deaths is not taking the name of stopping.

Eleven more patients admitted in Ballia district hospital died on Monday. With this, the death toll in this hospital has increased to 68 in the last five days. Ballia’s Chief Medical Officer Jayant Kumar said that a total of 178 new patients have been admitted to the hospital in the last 24 hours, out of which 11 have died. Those who died were suffering from various diseases.

Meanwhile, after the deadly heat in Ballia, the team of the Health Department, which reached from Lucknow, is going door-to-door talking to the people. Along with this, they are being appealed to be cautious about the heat wave. On the information of more deaths in two blocks of Ballia, the team from Lucknow inspected the area.

Director of Communicable Diseases Dr. AK Singh and Director (Treatment) Dr. KN Tiwari along with other doctors reached CHC. He conducted door-to-door survey of people who died of various diseases in the midst of summer. Informed about their food, living conditions, environment, water supply, routine of the deceased and other arrangements. The team visited several villages and also did sampling of water etc. During this, people were informed that the people who are being told about death due to heatstroke, did not have any disease before.

Dr. KN Tiwari told that the condition of the district hospital has been inspected. Patients are facing problems due to the heat. However, now the arrangements in the hospital have been improved as compared to earlier. Right now there is information about the death of only one person in a village, who was a TB patient. We have collected samples from the patients and investigation is underway. We are trying to find out what is the main reason behind the deaths happening here.

On the other hand, after more than 50 deaths in Deoria, an appeal has been made by the health department to the people not to venture out in the scorching heat. Emergency Medical Officer Dr. CP Tiwari told that due to the scorching heat, the number of patients in emergency has increased. Patients suffering from heatstroke and heat, fever, difficulty in breathing, unconsciousness and other problems are coming. It is being told that in general about six-seven deaths are happening everyday.

Meanwhile, the politics regarding deaths due to heat has also intensified. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to provide immediate treatment to every person coming to the hospital due to heatwave. At the same time, the opposition remains an attacker on the government.

Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav said that the Health Minister makes tall claims every day. But, there are no essential medicines in government hospitals and medical colleges. Now, when the entire state is reeling under scorching heat and heat wave, it is the failure of the government to have a power crisis.

SP’s national secretary Ramgovind Chowdhary has accused the state government of being negligent regarding health facilities. He said that the government has completely failed to provide relief to Ballia district during the heat wave. CMS and other doctors are being made scapegoats to hide their failures. He said that a trauma center was set up in the Ballia district hospital during the SP government. The present government could not make it operational till date. Modern machines came in the SP government to check serious diseases. She is throwing dust.

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that more than 100 deaths have taken place in different districts of UP due to the scorching heat and heat wave. More than 50 deaths have taken place in Ballia district alone. This shows that despite all the tall claims, the state does not even have basic facilities to deal with heat and heat stroke. This is very unfortunate. He has demanded to give proper compensation to all the victim’s families and to make arrangements for treatment in hospitals.
