Ranchi: Hemant Soren’s petition challenging the FIR lodged in the Adityapur police station of Seraikela Kharsawan in case of code of conduct violation will be heard in the Jharkhand High Court on November 21. In this case, there is a ban on taking coercive action against Hemant Soren till 21st November. During the last hearing, the High Court had banned the pest action and directed the state government to file its reply within three weeks. Also, the state government was directed to file a counter affidavit in the case.
It is noteworthy that the hearing in the Hemant Soren code of conduct violation case was held in the Jharkhand High Court on October 17 last month. After the hearing, the court of Justice Sanjay Kumar Dwivedi banned any kind of coercive action against the applicant. At that time the applicant had said in his defense that he had gone to campaign in favor of his party’s candidate. He had not violated the code of conduct.
Therefore the FIR lodged against him is not correct. The applicant had requested to cancel the FIR registered and the ongoing proceedings in the court. It is noteworthy that applicant Hemant Soren has filed a criminal writ petition. He has challenged the FIR (418/2014) lodged in Adityapur police station of Seraikela-Kharsawan. Hemant Soren has demanded cancellation of the FIR registered against him. Let us tell you that the hearing of the said case is also going on in the lower court of West Singhbhum.
