Harley-Davidson X440 : Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson had announced the opening of bookings for the X440 motorcycle as early as July 3, 2023. The Indian-American automaker says that the first offering through the joint venture has been well received by the customers and has received a positive response. The company will announce the next booking window later. However, now that the booking window will open, then there is a possibility of an increase in its price.
Test ride will start from September 1
Hero MotoCorp will start test rides for pre-booked customers nationally from September 1, 2023. Customers booking the X 440 online before August 3 will be given priority for deliveries starting from October. Hero has confirmed that priority delivery will be given as per the booking dates.
X 400 increased demand
Regarding the growing demand for the Harley-Davidson X440, Hero MotoCorp CEO Niranjan Gupta said that it is heartening to see the increasing inflow of inquiries and bookings for the Harley-Davidson X440. The volumes so far have exceeded our expectations and we have reached a point where we have decided to temporarily close the online booking channel. The response reflects the brand love and trust of Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp riding enthusiasts. As we gear up for the production and delivery of the Harley-Davidson X440. Production will be done in Neemrana, Rajasthan
The new single-cylinder Harley will be produced by Hero at its manufacturing plant in Neemrana, Rajasthan. The two-wheeler giant said that it is increasing the production of the X440 in response to the growing demand for the motorcycle. The Harley-Davidson X440 was launched on July 3 with a starting price of Rs 2.29 lakh for the base denim variant. This price is ex-showroom.
Booking on down payment of five thousand
Customers can book the Harley-Davidson X440 on the company’s website for a down payment of Rs 5,000. The deliveries will be done through Hero’s new ‘2.0’ premium network of dealerships, which will be revealed soon. The new dealer outlet will not only have the X 440 but also the premium Hero offering as well as the Vida Electric brand. Recently, Hero MotoCorp has trademarked the ‘Nightster 440’, hinting at the next motorcycle from the Hero-Harley collaboration.
Look and Design
The Harley-Davidson X440 borrows several styling details from the older models in the company’s line-up, especially the Harley-Davidson XR 1200. The retro design language has been retained with the round headlamp and teardrop-shaped fuel tank, but you get modern elements like LED lighting, LCD instrument console and more. The machined alloy wheels with a strong look have been given in the bike.
engine power
The Harley-Davidson X440 gets a newly-developed 398 cc single-cylinder air- and oil-cooled motor for power. This engine produces 27 Bhp of power and 38 Nm of peak torque, which is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
Braking & Suspension
Suspension consists of inverted front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear, while braking duties are handled by disc brakes with standard dual-channel ABS. There is a 320 mm disc brake at the front. Built on a trellis frame, the bike gets USD front forks with cartridge damping system and twin shock absorbers at the rear with preload adjustability.
