In 1989, Hemant Soren enrolled in the 10th standard at MG High School in Patna. He did his matriculation from Patna itself. In 1990, he passed the board examination. After this he did ISC in 1994 from Patna University. After this Hemant enrolled in engineering at BIT Mesra. Hemant Soren is an engineering dropout student, but very few people would know that Hemant Soren has come into politics not out of his will, but because of circumstances.

Political journey of Hemant Soren

In 2003, Hemant Soren stepped into student politics. Then he did not look back. He became the president of Jharkhand Chhatra Morcha. After this, he contested for the first time in 2005 from Dumka assembly seat. But Stephen lost to Marandi. After this, for the first time on 23 December 2009, the MLA was elected from Dumka to the present assembly. Hemant Soren has entered politics not out of his own will, but due to circumstances. Actually, Hemant Soren’s elder brother Durga Soren had died suddenly and father Shibu Soren’s health was not doing well. Because of this, Hemant Soren entered politics. Hemant Soren was elected to the Rajya Sabha, the Upper House of the Parliament in the year 2009 itself, but in January 2010, he resigned from the post of MP and became the Deputy CM in the Arjun Munda-led BJP government of the state. After this, he became the Chief Minister of Jharkhand for the first time in the year 2013 but his tenure lasted only till December 2014. After which Hemant Soren made his hold within the party in the last five years and he became the Chief Minister of Jharkhand for the second time on December 29, 2019 as the fifth Chief Minister of the state and till now he is holding the command of the state.
