Hamas-Israel War: India has decided to launch ‘Operation Ajay’ to ensure the return of Indians who wish to return home from Israel. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar posted on social media platform ‘X’ that we are launching ‘Operation Ajay’ for the return of our citizens who want to return from Israel. He said that arrangements for special charter flights and other arrangements are being made. We are fully committed to the safety and welfare of our citizens abroad. It is being told that the first batch of Indians is expected to be brought back from Israel through a special flight on Thursday. Let us know special things about ‘Operation Ajay’
1. Operation Ajay is not technically an evacuation operation. This is a campaign to bring back its citizens from Israel.
2. The work of bringing back Indians will be done by special chartered flight. Indian Navy ships will be deployed if needed.
3. If the Indians who are in Israel want to return, they will get convenience in this operation. There are about 18,000 Indians in Israel, including students, professionals and businessmen.
4. Foreign Minister Jaishankar also spoke to UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed on Wednesday. He wrote on Twitter that I am launching Operation Ajay to facilitate the return of our citizens who want to return from Israel.
5. It is being told that the first flight is on Thursday as the Embassy in Tel Aviv has emailed the first batch of Indians registered in Israel. “Messages to other registered people will be sent on subsequent flights,” the mission said.
6. Soon after Jaishankar’s announcement, the Indian Embassy in Israel said it has sent an e-mail to the first batch of Indian citizens registered for the special flight on Thursday. Messages will be sent to other registered people for the next flights, it said on social media platform ‘X’.

9. Israel’s Consul General in Mumbai Kobi Shoshani said that he has no information about any Indian citizen being injured or killed in the ongoing war. Actress Nusrat Bharucha was in Israel to attend the Haifa International Film Festival when the conflict began. He was brought back to India safely.
10. At the time of the war, about 27 people from Meghalaya, including Rajya Sabha member Wanweiroy Kharlukhi, were stranded in Bethlehem. The Ministry of External Affairs arranged for his safe entry into Egypt.
