Half a dozen NH projects will be completed in Bihar next year, vehicles will start running on these roads

Patna. Vehicles will start running on about half a dozen NHs of about 200 km length in the state from next year. It has three highways namely Simaria-Ounta four lane highway, elevated road in Begusarai city, four lane Rajauli-Bakhtiyarpur package. Apart from this, six lane Kanhauli-Ramnagar, four lane Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama, two lane and four lane Chhapra-Hajipur NH are also part of Patna Ring Road.

Simaria-Onta four lane highway will be completed in 2024

According to the information, Simaria-Onta fourlane highway of about 8.15 km length is being built on NH-31 at a cost of about Rs 1161 crore. The deadline to complete its construction is 29 October 2024. Ganga bridge of Sixlane is also included in this. With its construction, road connectivity of North and South Bihar will be improved. To relieve the traffic jam in Begusarai city, the deadline for construction of a four-lane elevated road on NH-31 of about 4.2 km length at a cost of Rs 255.99 crore is 23 December 2024.

Rajauli-Bakhtiyarpur and Patna Ring Road

Apart from this, the deadline to complete the construction of four lane Rajauli-Bakhtiyarpur Package Three Highway on NH-30 in length of about 50.89 km at a cost of about Rs 2310 crore is 27 June 2024. With its construction, road connectivity will improve in the area of ​​South Bihar. Whereas the construction of Sixlane Kanhauli-Ramnagar, part of Patna Ring Road, the first package of NH-131G, is likely to be completed by January 31, 2024 at a cost of about Rs 797 crore in length of about 39 km. With its construction, Patna city will start getting relief from traffic jams.

Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama and Chhapra-Hajipur

The construction of NH-31 four-lane Bakhtiyarpur-Mokama, included in the plan to improve roads, with a length of about 44.60 km, is scheduled to be completed by June 30, 2024, at a cost of about Rs 878.94 crore. With the construction of this road, road connectivity between Patna and South Bihar to North Bihar will be improved. The construction of NH-19 two-lane and four-lane Chapra-Hajipur road with a length of about 66.74 km is likely to be completed by June 30, 2024 at a cost of about Rs 575 crore. Its construction started in the year 2009 itself. The main reason for the delay in completion of its construction by about 10-11 years is said to be the problem of land acquisition.

Awaiting approval from PMO

Here, the new six-lane bridge parallel to JP Ganga on river Ganga along with three greenfield expressways to be built in Bihar is awaiting approval from the PMO. This includes expansion of Gorakhpur-Siliguri Expressway, Raxaul-Dighwara-Haldia and Purvanchal Express up to Bhagalpur. After all these get approval from the PMO, other processes including land acquisition for construction will begin. All these projects are part of Bharatmala Project Phase-2.

Ongoing construction process of Amas-Darbhanga Greenfield Expressway

Five greenfield expressways were announced in the second phase of Bharatmala project in Bihar. Out of this, Varanasi-Kolkata Expressway and Amas-Darbhanga Expressway have been approved. The process of land acquisition is also going on in Bihar for the construction of Varanasi-Kolkata Expressway. Along with this, the remaining land is being acquired for the Amas-Darbhanga Expressway. Also, the construction process has started at some places.
