NHAI has instructed the construction agency to increase the number of workers and machines to complete the work faster. After this the construction agency has increased the pace of work. Cost increased due to land acquisition and other complications

According to sources, the construction of Hajipur-Chhapra NH-19 with a length of about 66.74 km started on January 27, 2011. The deadline for making it was set for July 24, 2013. The cost increased due to land acquisition and other complications. Its initial cost was around Rs 387 crore, now it has increased to around Rs 640 crore. Actually, in the initial phase there was a problem of land acquisition in building this road. Later, due to financial constraints, the construction agency stopped the work. In 2019, on the initiative of NHAI, it was decided to provide financial assistance to the construction agency. After this the work has gained momentum.

NHAI Chairman had given instructions

Recently, NHAI Chairman had met Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Patna. The Chief Minister had discussed about Hajipur-Chhapra NH. After this, the Chairman of NHAI had directed the concerned officials and construction agency to complete the work at a fast pace.

Also, after the commencement of traffic from Ara-Chhapra road bridge and Sonpur-Digha bridges, the need for this Chhapra-Hajipur road has increased.
