Had reached Murhu’s Gullu Bazaar to collect levy, three PLFI militants arrested, weapons and pamphlets seized.

Khunti police has arrested three members of PLFI from Gullu weekly market of Murhu police station area. The arrested militants include Shankar Gop, resident of Maharatoli, Balo, Ajit Swansi alias Munna Swansi, resident of Bantoli, Ghaghra and Sunil Nayak, resident of Bhursu. It is said that all three are members of the squad of PLFI area commander Lambu alias Radung Bodra alias Tira Bodra. SDPO Varun Rajak presented all three before the media on Friday. SDPO said that police had received information that three militants were coming to Gullu weekly with the intention of collecting levy. As soon as the information was received, the police were alerted and laid siege and arrested the three militants. During the search, a pistol, five live cartridges, a leaflet of PLFI organisation, a diary and Rs 15,700 of levy were recovered from him. During interrogation, both of them said that they were working on levy collection and networking of PLFI on the instructions of Lambu.

Dozens of cases are registered against the three militants:

A total of 16 cases are registered against the captured militant Shankar Gop in Murhu, Rania, Torpa and Khunti police stations. These include many cases including murder. Eight cases are registered against Ajit Swansi in Murhu, Khunti, Bandgaon and Torpa police stations. A case is registered against Sunil Nayak in Khunti police station. SDPO said that on March 29, all three were involved in robbing mobile phones from traders at gunpoint in Gullu Bazaar. SDPO Varun Rajak, Police Inspector Kishun Das, Murhu police station incharge Nayal Godwin Kerketta, Police Sub Inspector Mandeep and armed forces were involved in his arrest.
