Gyanvapi Survey Report: Evidence of temple found in Gyanvapi Mosque, idols of God found in ASI survey

Gyanvapi Mosque is built on the remains of an already existing temple there. Hindu side’s lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain, citing the ASI survey report, said that before the construction of the present structure, a big Hindu temple was present there. The ASI report said, “In the scientific study/survey, the architectural remains, artefacts, inscriptions, art and sculptures were studied, it can be said that a Hindu temple existed there before the construction of the existing structure.” It has become clear from the survey report that the mosque was built on the remains of an earlier existing temple after demolishing it. The survey report states that sufficient evidence has been found for the existence of the temple. According to ASI there are 34 inscriptions there. Which are in Devanagari, Granth, Telugu and Kannada scripts. In these inscriptions, three names of gods like Janardan, Rudra and Umeshwar are found. Along with the remains of the temple, statues of Hindu deities have also been found. The pillars installed in the mosque were from a Hindu temple. Which have been modified and used. The ASI had submitted its survey report in a sealed envelope to the district court on December 18. A total of 11 people have applied for the report.
