Gyanvapi Survey: Hearing on making Gyanvapi survey report available to the parties now on January 3

Varanasi (Language): The District Court of Varanasi has fixed January 3 as the date for hearing on opening the sealed envelope of the survey report of Gyanvapi complex and providing the survey report to the parties. Hindu side’s advocate Madan Mohan Yadav gave this information. He said that in view of the Bar Council elections on Friday, December 22, the advocates had decided to abstain from work on Thursday. In view of this, District Judge AK Vishwesh has fixed January 3 for the hearing.

Muslim side’s lawyer Akhlaq Ahmed said that the lawyers are busy in the Bar Council elections to be held on Friday and are not participating in the court work. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) had presented the survey report of the Gyanvapi Mosque complex in a sealed envelope in the district court on December 18. This survey was conducted on the orders of the court after the petitioners claimed that the Gyanvapi Mosque located next to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple was constructed in the 17th century by demolishing the temple already existing there. So that it can be ascertained whether the mosque was built on the pre-existing structure of a Hindu temple or not.
