A few hours after the Varanasi District Court gave Hindus the right to worship in the basement of Vyas ji located in the Gyanvapi complex, late on Wednesday night the basement was opened and cleaned and then worship was performed there. People started reaching there from Thursday morning itself and started worshiping.

Kashi Vishwanath Trust employees did cleaning and purification inside the basement.

Vyas told that the employees of Kashi Vishwanath Trust first did the cleaning and purification inside the basement and then Acharya Ganeshwar Dravid installed the Kalash. He said that after this, Gauri-Ganesh Aarti was performed by chanting mantras and all the deities were remembered and worshipped, naivedya, fruits were offered to them and the Aarti was concluded by offering food.

President of Kashi Vishwanath Trust, Professor Nagendra Pandey said that after 31 years, the basement of Vyas ji was opened for worship at around 10.30 pm and it was cleaned. Pandey said that it was necessary to follow the court’s order, so the district administration has made all the arrangements promptly. I think whatever shortcomings remain will be gradually removed. Pandey told that after the order of the District Court, worship will now be conducted regularly in the basement of Vyas ji like before.

Vyas ji will be worshiped on the lines of Kashi Vishwanath

Baba Shri Kashi Vishwanath is worshiped five times regularly, similarly, Raga Bhog and Aarti of Gods and Goddesses will be organized in the basements of Vyas ji. Pandey told that a team of priests of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust will be deployed there to perform the puja, the priest will perform the puja there whenever he is on duty.

The members of the Vyas family dedicated their entire throne to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust.

The Trust President said that when the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Corridor was being built, the members of the Vyas family had dedicated their entire custody to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust under an agreement, hence, it is the responsibility of the Trust to conduct the puja there.

Vyas ji’s worship was stopped since 1993

Worship was held in the basement till 1993 but in the same year it was closed by the then Mulayam Singh Yadav government.
