Gumrah, the Hindi remake of another South film Thadam, has knocked at the box office this Friday among Hindi remake films of South. In terms of forensics, police investigation, twists and turns, the popular 90s TV show CID is better than this murder mystery. In the film, the murder is being forcefully shown as a perfect murder, while everything in the story of the film is predictable. Along with this, other aspects of the film are also weak, due to which this film can be termed as a completely cumbersome experience.
Screenplay is very poor in this story
The film begins with a murder. The police do a little investigation and they even see the face of the murderer in a mobile phone. ACP Dhiren Yadav (Ronit Roy) also recognizes him that it is Arjun (Aditya Roy Kapur). The police catch him and bring him and make him confess the crime of this murder that another person (Suraj) of Arjun’s lookalike is caught. Now who has committed the murder of the two people who are visible to us… In solving this mystery, the story gets further complicated and finally reaches the murderer. Along with this, why are these two people look alike in all the plots of the story. His past and why Arjun has a problem with ACP Dhiren. All these plots have also been added to the story, but they have not been able to add any value to the film.

It is a murder mystery film, but in that genre it is a different film in that here you are shown the face of the murderer in the very first scene, but after that the way the screenplay of the film is woven. He is very weak. Looking at the mysteries that the film solves, logic is a distant thing. You feel that the writers have simply written different situations of the film according to their comfort. Any evidence is easily created and erased. How the murderer had planned everything before committing the murder, which went on smoothly. This is also not shown in the film, so that the film can be given some leeway. The film is weak not only in mystery but also in the emotional side. The emotion of the film does not connect you.
acting is also average
Talking about acting, Aditya Roy Kapur is in a double role in this film. He has been seen trying to differentiate one character from the other with tattoos, printed shirts and different dialogue delivery, but like the screenplay on screen, his acting also looks breathless. We have seen Ronit Roy in this type of role earlier also. He has once again been seen repeating himself. Mrinal Thakur, Vedika Pinto, Mohit Anand’s work is average.
These aspects are also weak
Talking about other aspects of the film, some work was needed on editing, especially in the first half. The dialogues of the film have remained as weak as the screenplay. Many times we laugh after listening to them. It would not be wrong to say that, in such genre stories, songs and music often hinder the pace of the story and the same is seen here.

Overall, it is wise to watch this film only on the OTT release.
