In the Kanthi Devi murder case, testimony of seven people was made. In which Additional Public Prosecutor Mohammad Javed Hussain advocated on behalf of the government side. The incident is of 17 January 2018. On the day of the incident, Kanthi Devi had gone to the field for grazing cattle with her daughter-in-law. Meanwhile, both the accused Santosh Oraon and Sohrai Oraon came with sticks and started beating Kanthi Devi accusing her of witchcraft.

The accused drove away the daughter-in-law from the spot

During this, the accused had driven away the daughter-in-law of Kanthi Devi from there. After which the daughter-in-law ran away to her house and informed the relatives about the incident. After which the family ran to the farm and found the dead body of Kanthi Devi at the spot. After this incident, Khudi Oraon, the son of the deceased, had lodged a nominated FIR against the above two accused. Taking action at that time, the police had sent the accused to jail.
