Dahupani Panchayat located in Palkot police station of Gumla district millet village Resident couple Raju Khadia (45) and his wife Asha Devi (40) were hacked to death. Cousin Lius Khadiya (55) brutally hacked both of them to death. After committing the murder, Lewis is absconding from the village. Lewis had also killed Raju’s mother 30 years ago.

SDPO Vikas Anand Laguri and Thanedar Anil Linda reached the village with the team after getting the information from the Palkot police in the morning. The dead bodies of the couple were taken into custody and sent to Sadar Hospital Gumla for postmortem.
There was a dispute three days back regarding lacquer cutting
Villagers told that Raju Khadiya was living in Chandigarh for 26 years. He had come to the village six days ago. There was a fight between Raju Khadiya and Lius Khadiya on Thursday while cutting lacquer in the safflower tree. During this, Lewis Khadiya ran to kill Raju. At that time Raju saved his life by running away.
The mother of the deceased was also murdered
The villagers told that about 30 years ago Raju Khadiya’s mother was also murdered by Lius Khadiya. In that case he was sent to jail. Due to this fear, Raju Khadiya used to work hard while living in Chandigarh. The deceased couple has three sons and two daughters. All live in the village itself.
SDPO said: The killer will soon be caught by the police
SDPO Vikas Anand Laguri said that the main reason for the murder is land dispute. Police is conducting intensive raids to nab the accused of murder. The one who killed Raju Khadiya will be caught by the police very soon.
