Gujarat News: India on Sunday said the Gujarat government is taking strict action in the case of violence at a university in Ahmedabad, in which two foreign students were injured. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that one of the two foreign students injured in the violence has been discharged from the hospital. He said on social media platform X that an incident of violence took place yesterday at Gujarat University in Ahmedabad. The state government is taking strict action against the criminals. He said that two foreign students were injured in the violence. One of them has been discharged from the hospital after treatment.

Team formed to investigate the incident

Ahmedabad Police Commissioner GS Malik said that an FIR has been registered against 20 to 25 people in connection with the incident and nine teams have been formed for investigation. Malik said that the incident was reported around 10.50 pm on Saturday night when about 20 to 25 people entered the hostel of Gujarat University and objected to the religious ritual in the hostel of students from Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and other countries.

Malik said that about 20 to 25 people entered the hostel premises and objected to the religious rituals of the international students there and asked them to go to the religious place. They had an argument over this issue and they beat him up and pelted stones. He told that two students have been admitted to the hospital who are from Sri Lanka and Tajikistan. Malik said that an FIR has been registered against 20 to 25 people and they will be arrested soon. Malik said that the situation is currently under control.
