Gorakhpur: An agreement will be signed between Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University and Shere Bangla Agricultural University, Bangladesh for cooperation in agricultural education and research. The initiative regarding this has been taken by Gorakhpur University. An agreement has been reached between both the universities regarding this. After this, both the universities will help each other not only in promoting education but also in promoting research. Deendayal Upadhyay, Vice Chancellor of Gorakhpur University, Professor Poonam Tandon said that the background of the agreement regarding education and research between Gorakhpur University and the University of Bangladesh has been formed. The agreement process will be completed very soon. This agreement will give a new dimension to research in the agricultural sector. Dr. Ramwant Gupta, Director of the International Cell of the University and Dr. Sharad Kumar Mishra, Director of the Institute of Agriculture and Nature, discussed this with Dr. Tuhin Subno Roy of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Shere Bangla Agricultural University. The topics of research being done in the agricultural sector were discussed between the two sides. After this, the representatives of both the universities came to the conclusion that both India and Bangladesh have wide interest in agricultural research. Dr Mirza Hasanuzzaman of Shere Bangla University said that the primary objective of this partnership is to bridge the gap between the requirements of the industry and the skills possessed by the youth and to strengthen the work force in the agriculture sector. During this, Professor Sharad Kumar Mishra of Gorakhpur University gave information about the ongoing research activities related to agriculture in the university.
