Now the graduate students will not have to wander in case of doubt regarding the examination result in Deendayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University. The university has taken another important decision in the interest of students. Now graduate students will be able to see their OMR sheets and solve their dilemma regarding marks. Like post graduate students, now graduate students will also be able to see the answer sheet. Gorakhpur University administration is going to start this facility from this session. Till now, there was a system of showing only descriptive answer sheets in Gorakhpur University. Under the new system, now graduate students will be able to see their OMR answer sheet in case of doubt regarding their marks.
Students used to protest for this
Talking about the earlier system, students could not see the OMR sheet in the university. There is a provision to show only descriptive answer sheets under the Right to Information Act. Students cannot see the answer sheet i.e. OMR sheet of the optional question paper. Because it has not been kept within the scope of the rules. Protests by students regarding this have been taking place every day from the university campus to the administrative building. This system has been made flexible in the new education policy. The university administration has decided that all graduate examinations will be in MCQ format. Besides, arrangements have also been made to remove the number of students who are dissatisfied with the OMR results. If students are dissatisfied with the exam results, they will be able to see their OMR sheets by paying the prescribed fee.
This will be the fee for viewing OMR sheet
To view the OMR sheet, students will have to pay the same fee as they had to pay to view the descriptive answer sheet. At present the university administration has fixed a fee of Rs 300 for viewing the descriptive answer sheet. In such a situation, to see the OMR sheet, the student will have to deduct a receipt of Rs 300. He will have to submit it along with the application form to the examination department within the stipulated period declared by the university.
Students’ satisfaction is the university’s priority – Vice Chancellor
Whereas Vice Chancellor Prof. Poonam Tandon said that students’ satisfaction is the priority of the university. When the university administration has made arrangements to show the descriptive answer sheet, then they also have the right to see the OMR sheet. Keeping this in mind, we have decided to show the OMR sheet. This decision has also got the approval of the examination committee. In such a situation, from this session itself, students will be able to see their OMR sheets and solve their dilemma regarding marks.
