Gorakhpur News: Subrata Roy laid the foundation of Sahara India with a chair and table and three friends from Gorakhpur.

Gorakhpur: Sahara Shree i.e. Subrata Roy was also charismatic in maintaining relationships. Subrata Roy became very popular among the youth due to his special style while doing Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Government Polytechnic, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. At the beginning of his career, Subrata Roy said that one has to become an employer and not an employee. He also demonstrated this by doing this. By starting a business in Gorakhpur in the year 1978 with just Rs 2000 and three friends, Subrata Roy spread his business all over the world. Subrata Roy laid the foundation of Sahara India with just Rs 2000, a chair and a table. Even after reaching the throne, Subrata Roy, born in Araria, Bihar, came to Gorakhpur with his family after completing his initial studies in Kolkata. He studied Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from Government Polytechnic. . Subrata Roy’s family lived in a rented house near Gandhi Ashram in Turkmanpur, Gorakhpur. Even after his father returned from Gorakhpur, Subrata Roy did not leave the city and started living in a rented room in Bettiahata.

Always think about business instead of job

During his studies, Subrata Roy sometimes used to ride a motorcycle. He used to lead the youth even during that period. He started chit fund business while living in Bettiahata. Late PK Lahri, who closely observed Subrata Roy’s struggle, used to say that Subrata never had to do a government job. He was always thinking about business. Subrata, who was weak in studies, initially became an agent in a finance company in Mumbai. After that, he founded Sahara India with three friends. Subrata Roy connected thousands of youth from Gorakhpur as well as other places of the country with Sahara Group. Gave them a platform to work as per their ability. There was a family relationship between former mayor of Gorakhpur, Anju Chaudhary and Sahara Shri Subrata Rai. Subrata Rai used to call Anju Chaudhary as Bhabhi, on which Anju Chaudhary used to interrupt him that it is sister-in-law and not sister-in-law. Subrata Roy and Anju Chaudhary’s house has been coming and going since 1972. Sahara Shree loved the sweets made by Anju Chaudhary. Anju Chaudhary told that despite being a man of international level, Subrata Roy was completely ground to earth. .He was always ready to help people. The connection with Gorakhpur was such that even the rickshaw pullers were known by his name.

Sold snacks on a blue scooter

Anju Choudhary told that their relationship dates back to the time when he used to sell namkeen on his blue scooter. Anju Chaudhary told that her younger sister lives in Lucknow. Whenever Subrata Roy used to go to Lucknow, whatever she wanted to send to her sister, she would send it to Subrata Roy. It was during her stay in Bettiahata, Gorakhpur that Subrata Roy Started chit fund business. Students in college and university were first inculcated in the habit of saving Rs. 1. For those who did this, he opened an account and by depositing one rupee, he prepared capital for Sahara. After this, he opened an office in a small shop near United Talkies on Cinema Road. That office in the city is still registered. As soon as Rajendra Dubey, who was Subrata Roy’s classmate, got the news of Sahara Shree’s demise in the night, he became emotional. He told that Subrata never tried for a government job as he used to say that he wanted to do business and not a job.
