Gorakhpur News: Bus station will be built on PPP model, facilities like airport will be available

Now passengers will get airport like facilities at Gorakhpur bus station in UP. Gorakhpur bus station will be developed at a cost of Rs 92 crore on 14416 square meter land. The bus station is to be rejuvenated on Public Private Partnership i.e. PPP model. The Transport Corporation has issued a tender to build a bus station equipped with ultra-modern facilities. Tenders are invited till January 4. The tender will open on January 4 at 5:00 pm, this time the terms and conditions have been made flexible for investors. At this ultra-modern bus station, passengers will be able to get all the facilities in one complex. Along with determining the budget for the bus station, the land has also been identified. About 50 to 60 thousand people commute daily from Gorakhpur bus station in about 1200 buses. A bus terminal will be built on 55 percent of the identified land and a commercial complex will be built on the remaining 45 percent. Here passengers will also be able to purchase essential goods while travelling. Along with the food plaza, accommodation facilities will also be available in this complex. The station building and commercial complex will be multi-storey, in which all facilities will be available for passengers. Charging points will be made for operation of electric vehicles in the bus station premises itself.

These will be the facilities

For the convenience of passengers, updates on buses will be available every moment at the bus station. There will be different platforms for buses operating in different areas. Air-conditioned waiting rooms will be built for the passengers to stay. There will be a canteen for the passengers and TV for their entertainment. CCTV cameras will be installed throughout the complex for the safety of passengers. Tender has been issued for the reconstruction of 18 bus stations of the state including Gorakhpur. He told that the annual concession fee will not be charged for 5 years. The investor will have to make payment from the 6th year. The annual concession fee of the land value of the bus station has been reduced from one percent to half percent. Its tender was floated in the year 2022. But due to difficult terms and conditions investors were not found.
