Alabaster powder is used in making creams and powders in cosmetics. Adulterators play with people’s lives and make money out of it. On Wednesday, the food safety team raided Ramdas Yadav’s Rakesh Traders firm in Rapti Nagar and seized 6 quintals of ready-made fake Khowa.
Along with this, the food safety team has seized and destroyed 70 kg of adulterated khova from near the railway station. Whose market price is Rs 17500. Earlier, under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner Food II Kumar Gunjan and Chief Food Safety Officer Hitendra Mohan Tripathi, a campaign against adulterated food items was started from Taramandal area of Gorakhpur.

Chief Food Safety Officer Hitendra Mohan Tripathi said that samples of khaya, milk, barfi and adulterated powder have been taken from Rakesh Traders located in Rapti Nagar, Gorakhpur. Along with this, two and a half quintals of boondi and 40 kg of alabaster powder have been destroyed. He told that this campaign will continue continuously in view of the festival.
