Gorakhpur: Merchant killed innocent by poisoning, police registered case, waiting for postmortem report

Gorakhpur News: In the state, a case of cruelty has come to the fore in the Cantt area of ​​Gorakhpur district. Here, a shopkeeper, while doing a cruel act, poisoned and killed a female dog and her five children roaming in the street. His act was captured in the CCTV camera. When the people around came to know about this and opposed it, the accused shopkeeper also got entangled with them.

Due to this incident, there is a lot of resentment among the people about the shopkeepers. Starting an uproar over this, he demanded action against the accused shopkeeper. After this, the police reached the spot, took the dead bodies of the animals and sent them for postmortem and have registered a case against the accused businessman. Further action will be taken on the basis of postmortem report. This whole incident is of Khowa Mandi street of Gorakhpur.

Gaurav Sadhwani, a resident of Humayunpur in Gorakhpur district, has a shop in Katra in front of Hotel Sun Plaza located in Khowa Mandi. He has alleged in the Tahrir to the police that the shopkeeper Gurmukh Elani alias Gangaram killed a female dog roaming in the street and her two children by feeding them poisonous biscuits.

After this, the police reached the spot on information, caught the accused and released him after warning him. It is alleged that after being released from the police post, the accused also poisoned and killed the remaining three children of the female dog. When the people there protested against his act, he got into a fight with them and threatened to see them.

When the Municipal Corporation team reached after getting the information, when they started carrying the dead bodies of the animals, the people there stopped them and informed the police. People filed a case against the accused shopkeeper and demanded post-mortem of the dead bodies. Along with this, asked to take action against the accused. He demanded strict action under Animal Cruelty Act 160.

This act of the shopkeeper is discussed in the whole area. People say that if he had a problem with the speechless, he could have informed the team of the Municipal Corporation. The municipal team would have taken the helpless with them, they could have been kept in Kanha Upvan. Had this municipal corporation taken some other action, it would have saved the lives of the dumb ones.

In this case, SP City Krishna Kumar Vishnoi said that a case has been registered against accused Gurmukh Elani alias Gangaram under section 428 of IPC. The dead bodies of the animals have been sent for postmortem. Further action will be taken on the basis of post mortem report and evidence.

Section 428 of IPC can lead to imprisonment of two years

Under Section 428 of the IPC, the charge of killing, poisoning, maiming or dismembering any animal is punishable with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years.

Destitute and abandoned animals are taken care of in Kanha Upvan

Meanwhile, the Municipal Corporation has now handed over the responsibility of maintenance of destitute and stray animals to private hands in Kanha Upvan in Gorakhpur. Earlier, the Municipal Corporation used to spend 62 rupees daily on each animal. At the same time, now after handing over to private hands, every animal is being given Rs.38 per day. 1350 animals have been kept in Kanha Upvan.

Kanha Upvan is located in ward number 38 of Gorakhpur. It was inaugurated by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Kanha Upvan was built on 9 acres at a cost of Rs 8.5 crore.

The Municipal Corporation has now given its responsibility in private hands. The deployment of doctors of the Animal Husbandry Department for the care and treatment of the health of the animals is as before. The firm provides medicines used in the treatment. IDS Enterprises, the firm that has taken the contract for animal care in Kanha Upvan, is already producing organic manure.

The officers of the Municipal Corporation are monitoring the works of the private firm. Along with this, supervisors and zonal officers have also been deployed. The animals are being given straw, fodder and green fodder daily. If the work of the firm continues to be good, then the contract can be extended even further.
