Gorakhpur: Increase in the number of dengue patients, hospital wards are full, emergency admissions are being done.

Dengue cases are continuously increasing in Gorakhpur, due to which there is panic in the health department. The number of dengue infected people in the district has crossed 150. The beds in government hospitals are full of patients. If we talk about Gorakhpur District Hospital, there are 18 beds in the ward and all are currently full. In such a situation, new patients have to be admitted to the emergency of the district hospital.

Sample sent for ELISA test

Till now 5 patients are admitted in emergency in the district hospital. Dengue has been confirmed in the rapid test cards of these patients. His sample has been sent for ELISA test. The patient is being kept admitted in the emergency room till the results of the ELISA test come. On Monday, four patients from the district hospital were referred to the higher center. The number of dengue patients is continuously increasing in BRD Medical College.

19 patients admitted in medical college

At present, 19 patients are admitted in the medical college, out of which three are from Gorakhpur. A 12-bed dengue ward was made in the medical college. As the number of patients increased, it was increased to 24 beds. In the investigation of dengue infected people, the reports of three people have come positive. The number of dengue patients in the district has reached 160. Three patients have been admitted to the district hospital. A total of 18 patients are admitted in the dengue ward.

Whereas in the district hospital, five patients who were tested with rapid kit are admitted in the emergency ward. On Monday, dengue infection was found in one person each in Bichiya, Padri Bazar and Bettiahata. District Malaria Control Officer Angad Singh said that till now 11621 people have been tested.

Patients with low platelets are not being admitted.

The dengue ward of the 100 bed TV Hospital located near the airport of Gorakhpur has a different view. This hospital has a dengue ward of 50 beds. 18 doctors and 50 employees are deployed here. Only 7 patients remained admitted here on Monday. According to the staff, only those patients are being admitted here. Whose platelets are more than 50000. There is no facility for platelet transfusion here. In such a situation, patients with low platelets are not being admitted.
