Gorakhpur: Durga Puja pandals opened, devotees had darshan of the Mother, the city echoed with the cheers of the Mother.

On Saturday, on the Saptami of Shardiya Navratri, the doors of the idol of Maa Durga installed in the puja pandals of Gorakhpur city were opened. There was a huge crowd of devotees in the Durga pandals and everyone had darshan and chanted Jai Maa. During this time the entire atmosphere was full of devotion, faith and joy.

On Saptami Saturday, Mother’s aura was illuminating the atmosphere. When the devotees got the darshan of Bhagwati, their body and mind became elated. After darshan and worship, the devotees offered their faith at the feet of the mother. There was activity on the streets till late night.

The idol of Maa Durga has been placed in puja pandals at many places in Gorakhpur city including Durgabari, Kalibari, Diwan Bazaar, Bakshipur, Mohaddipur, Engineering College, Azad Chowk, NE Railway Boys Inter College, Dharamshala Bazaar, Rustampur.

As soon as the mother’s womb opened in the pandals, the entire city echoed with cheers. There was a huge crowd of devotees in Durgabari, NE Railway, Kalibari, Golghar Daudpur Reti Chowk. The roads passing around the puja pandals and temples have been decorated with attractive colorful lights.

The lights emanating from colorful electric chandeliers were creating a new atmosphere in the city of Gorakhpur. According to police records, this time more than 3900 statues of mothers have been installed in the district.

Temporary shops have also been set up in the pandals for the devotees, where puja and food items are being sold. In view of the crowd of devotees, four-wheelers and two-wheelers will be stopped and sent through another route, the map of which has been prepared by the traffic police.

In view of Ashtami Navami and Dussehra, many routes have been diverted. There is a huge crowd of devotees at many places in Gorakhpur including Durgabari, NE Railway Boys Inter College, Kalibari, Dharamshala Mohaddipur.

The administration has made arrangements for heavy police force, so that the devotees do not face any problem. With the help of CCTV cameras and drones installed at various places, the police will monitor the people and passers-by visiting the Durga pandals.
