Google I/O 2024: Keep an eye on these products on May 14

Google I/O 2024: Google is going to organize its next I/O (Innovation in the Open) developer conference on May 14. The company has followed its tradition of posting a ‘Break the Loop Puzzle’ before revealing the dates of its developer-focused annual conference. This will be an in-person event and will be live-streamed on all official Google channels. The annual event is expected to focus on Google’s new advancements in AI. This event will probably reveal new features coming to Android 15, Chrome and other Google services like Gmail, Google Photos and others. It is expected that some new products including Google Pixel 8a will be teased.

For your information, let us tell you that tech giant Google has revealed the date of this year’s I/O event through a Google post on Thursday, March 14. The live event will take place on May 14 at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California, a regular venue for the I/O conference. As always, Google is expected to livestream the keynote via the I/O website and its YouTube channels. Developer sessions may be limited to attendees. As in past years, developers can register for the event for free and receive email updates about the schedule and content.

In addition to developer-focused talks about apps and product development, Google’s annual event is expected to unveil its next steps in the rapidly growing AI field, including potential announcements about Android XR and Gemini. We are likely to learn about new features in Chrome, Android 15, and other Google products. It is being speculated that the company may showcase Pixel 8a during the event on May 14. It has a 6.1-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate and may run on Google’s Tensor G3 SoC along with 8GB of RAM.

Pixel LCD was also launched as Google’s first mechanical phone at the I/O event last year. Therefore, this time we can also expect teasers of Pixel 2 and Pixel 9 series. At Google I/O 2023, along with the launch of its first foldable phone and Pixel-branded tablet, the search giant has repeatedly told us that it cares about AI. This year the company is going to supercharge its apps, services and Android operating system with AI technology.
