Kamla Sohoni received the President’s Award for her work on Neera. She was also the first woman director of the Royal Institute of Science in Bombay. Sohoni was born on this day in 1911 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He studied chemistry and physics at Bombay University, graduating in 1933 at the top of his class.
