Good news for cattle herders of UP, a grant of 40 thousand rupees will be given for buying an indigenous cow, know the complete details

There is good news for the farmers and animal herders of Uttar Pradesh. Under the Mukhyamantri Swadeshi Gau-Samvardhan Yojana, being run by the Yogi government, farmers will now get a grant of up to Rs 40,000 for purchasing indigenous cows of advanced breeds (Gir, Sahiwal, Tharparkar and Haryana species) from other states. A milk producer will be eligible for one animal husbandry unit of maximum 2 cows.

Apart from this, one high-tech new milk producer cooperative society will be formed in each of the 621 development blocks of the state. These decisions were taken in the first meeting of the State Steering Committee of Nand Baba Milk Mission under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra. Under this, Mukhyamantri Swadeshi Gau-Samvardhan Yojana, Mukhyamantri Progressive Pashupalak Protsahan Yojana and Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana were approved.

The scheme has been started at a cost of Rs 1000 crore.

Under the Mukhyamantri Pragatisheel Pashupalak Protsahan Yojana, an incentive amount of 10 to 15 thousand will be sent through DBT for indigenous breed cow rearing. Under the Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana, a maximum grant of Rs 31.25 lakh per unit will be provided for setting up a dairy of 25 cows for breed improvement and increase in milk productivity in bovine animals.

The Chief Secretary said that Nand Baba Milk Mission has been started at a cost of Rs 1000 crore to keep the state a leader in milk production. Under the mission milk co-operative societies should provide facilities to milk producers to sell their milk at a reasonable price in the village itself. He also directed to provide income tax exemption under 80G to those who donate to the mission committee.

Additional Chief Secretary, Livestock and Milk Development Department, Dr. Rajneesh Dubey said that Nand Baba Milk Mission will play a major role in the implementation of dairy development and milk production promotion policy for maximum benefits for all stakeholders of the dairy sector. Milk Commissioner and Mission Director Shashi Bhushan Lal Sushil gave detailed information regarding Nand Baba Milk Mission. He said that under the Nand Baba Milk Mission, a new white revolution will be brought about by promoting the milk value chain from cow to consumer. Under the Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana, 25 indigenous advanced cows will be made available to the cow herders.

If you keep or wish to keep a cow, then you can take advantage of both these schemes. Under the scheme, dairy farmers have to rear indigenous breeds of Sahiwal, Gir, Gangatiri and Tharparkar cows. The amount given for cow rearing is permissible for the rearing of maximum two cows. For this, you have to go to your nearest Animal Husbandry Department and contact the officials.
