Various types of animals have come to the Sonpur fair organized in Bihar, but nowadays a crowd of farmers and cattle herders have gathered at the Veterinary College Ground in Patna to see Golu, a buffalo of Murrah breed. It reached here on Tuesday with its owner Narendra Singh from Haryana and will remain here till 23rd December. Narendra Singh calls his buffalo Ghollu. The price of this Golu-2 aka Ghollu has been estimated at Rs 10 crore. Golu-2, a buffalo of about six years old, is the third generation in the house of Narendra Singh. Narendra says that his grandfather was the first generation whose name was Golu. Its son BC 448 can be called Golu-1. He is the grandson of Golu. Narendra tells that he earns Rs 25 lakh in a year by selling semen of Golu-2. Narendra claims that Golu-2 understands his signals.
About Rs 30 to 35 thousand per month spent on food
The weight of Golu-2 is about 15 quintals, while the height is about five and a half feet. The width of the Rs 10 crore buffalo Golu-2 is three and a half feet while the length is 14 feet. It is often discussed that dry fruits are included in the diet of buffalo golu worth Rs. 10 crores. On this Narendra Singh says in clear words that it is not so. Golu eats about 35 kg of dry and green fodder and gram every day. Along with this, 7 to 8 kg of jaggery is also included in his diet. He also gets ghee and milk occasionally. Things like dry fruits are never given to him. The expenditure on its food is around Rs 30 to 35 thousand per month.

Narendra Singh says that there is a demand for Golu’s semen not only in the country but also outside the country, but Narendra Singh does not provide semen to any supplier but only to farmers and cattle rearers.
Challenge to keep it safe for 14 years

Narendra Singh, owner of Golu-2, says that his aim is to produce good bulls and buffaloes by using good semen, so that there is never any shortage of milk and curd in the country.
